Meet our excellent guide for Far North India

Our tradition of tours to all parts of India dates back to 1986 under the leadership of Malathi Ramaswamy (center) and her husband, Colonel Rama. Many of our loyal travelers know and respect Malathi, as “The Soul of India Personified” and the founder of INDEBO.

And so the tradition continues today with their son, Colonel Ravi Ramaswamy (left). We are delighted to announce Col. Ravi will travel with us as an authority on North India. His background, having served as an officer in the Indian army, will add valuable insight into the area today. See more...

Namaste,

It is with great pleasure that we present this program—India’s Far North, Ladakh, Punjab and Srinigar. Join us in exploring the remote Buddhist area of India. In “Little Tibet,” our small group will explore a mixture of historical, religious and natural sites, and catch a portion of the legendary Silk Road.

We’ve selected the best time of year to visit the majestic Himalayas. But first we’ll fly to Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh to see its ornate temples including the current home and office of the Dalai Lama in exile. See Amritsar in Punjab with its Golden Temple and learn of its Sikh history.

Then we fly to idyllic Srinigar. Float on Lake Dal where one’s entire life could be spent not touching land! Then we head east, getting used to the high altitudes as we journey by coach. From Leh we visit Hemis. We’ve scheduled the dates to coincide with its important event in the Buddhist calendar - Hemis Tsechu.

Traversing one of the world’s highest mountain passes, we reach the beautiful Nubra Valley and its villages where we camp overnight before returning to Leh and by flight to Delhi.

Please read and enjoy our brochure. Then, if you have any questions, please call us. We look forward to welcoming you to this very special tour and preparing you for this great adventure. The journey is limited to a small group of serious, but fun-loving, travelers.

Sincerely,

Gwen
